Claribel Saldivar : California State University, East Bay
Claribel once dumped her sister’s cat in a tub of oil out of curiosity. That curiosity led to remorse, which led her to wonder about the cat’s feelings. As result, she now advocates for animal rights and hopes to become a veterinarian one day. Claribel obtained high academic marks in school while participating in the Black Student Union, the Go Green Club, and the Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement Club. Claribel is thankful for her parents support and encouragement throughout her life and thankful for the Nicholas Academic Center, especially of Ms. Thao Phan and Ms. Rosa Diaz’s guidance.
