Erik Chavarria

Determined, confident and focused are words used by many to describe this young man; but it is his strong faith and sense of humor that have kept his head held high while overcoming a host of challenges outside the classroom. A member of the Valley High School wrestling team, Erik (“Chava” to his friends) is known as a fierce competitor inside the gym. That laser-like focus has been a key factor in his academic success and has served him well, as he will attend Morningside College in the fall. “I want to be able to look in the mirror and be proud of what I see.”
