Whether or not Jessica would have her pick of fine academic institutions was never a question; rather, the real question was whether she would leave her family behind to attend school out of state. Jessica made the difficult decision to attend Colgate College in central New York this fall, double majoring in psychology and art. Although her family will be thousands of miles away, she says she will keep the encouraging words of her mother close to her heart, knowing that happiness starts at home, wherever that may be. Jessica is the first in her family to be accepted to a four-year university.
