Julio Cruz : University of California, Los Angeles
Julio was born in Mexico. His family immigrated to the U.S. when he was a young child. Julio has lived in Santa Ana, CA since then. He is the oldest of 3 boys. Julio will be the first in his family to attend a four-year University. Julio has gotten accepted to UCLA (his dream school) and has been awarded a full ride scholarship through the Heid Memorial Foundation. Julio has also been awarded the Tzu Chi and Floral Park scholarships. Julio is unsure what career he wants to pursue at this time. He does plan on attending graduate school after completing his Bachelor Degree. Julio currently maintains a 4.3 GPA and has been honored as the top 100 seniors in the Santa Ana Unified School District. He has also received student of the month as well as student athlete of the year. Julio is active in basketball and track and field as well as other extracurricular activities in school.
