Maribel Morales : Hampshire College

Oh Boy! The time has finally come for me to say goodbye to high school and say hello to Hampshire College in the fall. While at Hampshire, I will study History, Communications, and Journalism, and I hope to work in journalism or radio. Even though I have succeeded in getting to college, it was not easy. I will forever remember my high school experience as the time I struggled, yet succeeded in discovering my true self. I struggled with discrimination these past four years, but those memories are nothing compared to the happy memories I have shared with classmates, especially these past two years. If I am not found studying, I can be found crocheting beanies for cancer patients, volunteering for Planned Parenthood, or perhaps just taking a study break. I want to thank my parents, Ms. Sharon Saxton, my peers, and everyone at NAC for steering me in the right direction. My advice to the incoming senior class is to work hard and keep your eye on the prize. I hope to see you at next year’s ceremony, or even, at Hampshire College.
